Land resumption

The State has the power to compulsorarily acquire land for public purposes. State leasehold land is usually acquired under the Land Act 1994, though other Acts may also be used. Freehold land is acquired under the Acquisition of Land Act 1967.

Statutory covenants

In Queensland, a statutory covenant is a written agreement in a prescribed form that may be registered on title to ensure that the obligation to comply with the covenant is transferred to another person with the transfer of title to the land.
