For enquiries relating to:

For further information on regional ecosystems see regional ecosystems

For further information on interpreting RE maps see Regional ecosystems fact sheet

For further information on interpreting the Regrowth Vegetation Map see the Interpreting the regrowth vegetation map fact sheet (PDF)*.

For further information on how essential habitat is applied under the VMA Codes see Essential habitat.

This website enables you to select an area of interest and obtain a Regional Ecosystem and Remnant Map and an Essential Habitat Map or a Regrowth Vegetation and PMAV Map in Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) that can be emailed to a valid email address.

It is important that you download both the RE and remnant map and the regrowth map from the DERM website to determine whether a property is affected by the requirements of the Vegetation Management Act 1999.

Please note that you will receive a Vegetation Management Act Regional Ecosystem and Remnant Map and a Essential Habitat Map in the same PDF file, as well as essential habitat factors for any essential habitat labelled on the map.

If you request a Regrowth Vegetation Map you will also receive a PMAV in the same pdf file as well as essential habitat factors for any essential regrowth habitat labelled on the map.

Information about your map request is collected to process this transaction. Map requests including that information are logged for quality assurance and product enhancement purposes only.

Don't know your Lot on Plan?

Check the Queensland Atlas online map to locate your property. Zoom in to the locality and select 'Property' in the Area of Interest list on the left-hand side and use the 'Identify' tool. Alternatively, Lot on Plans are generally listed on local government rates notices

Don't know the coordinates of a place?

Geoscience Australia offers a service where you can obtain the digital degrees of any place in the national gazetteer.

Information shown on the Regional Ecosystem, Remnant Map and Essential Habitat Map includes current data which is certified under the Vegetation Management Act 1999. The status of regional ecosystems is listed in the schedule of the Vegetation Management Regulation 2000. The cadastral parcels, National Park and State Forest boundaries, bioregion boundaries, towns and roads are also shown on the map. The remnant vegetation cover is shown in areas where regional ecosystem mapping is not available (Far west and north Queensland).

The Regrowth Vegetation Map includes current data which is certified under the Vegetation Management Act 1999. The cadastral parcels, National Park and State Forest boundaries, towns and roads are also shown on the map.

Map elements include a scalebar, locality diagram, legend and graticule showing latitudes and longitudes.

The maps are produced at a map scale of 1:100,000 except for some areas in Southeast Queensland where 1:50,000 scale mapping is available.

The RE maps are A3 portrait and should be printed at this size.
